Serpent Player's Southwestern Cheese Dip/Spread Recipe

(a very simple concoction for simple players of a very simple instrument)

2     8 oz  packages cream cheese (Philadelphia or similar)
2     12 oz  jar chunky salsa, medium or hot (or measure about 2 cups from a larger jar)
1     bag shredded cheddar cheese, should be about 2 cups measured

Soften cream cheese by working with a spoon in a bowl, or by stirring at slow speed in a food processor or large mixer.
Add salsa and stir in until mixture has an even consistency.
Add shredded cheese and mix in.

Serve as a dip for crackers or chips. For use as a cracker spread, cover bowl and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
